For Bahnchen, I wanted a rake of skips to run behind the contractor’s loco.
I got some skips from the 009 Society stall and converted them to 6.5mm gauge.

I added weight to mine by lining the skip buckets with thin lead. Made a big difference. There are some pictures on page 2 of the Cement Works album on mu Flickr site.

I tried adding some lead to each skip but then the little Rokuhan chassis struggled to pull them 😦
Perhaps I added too much !

I first of all used some very thin lead sheet I got from a fishing tackle shop. Then I discovered I could hammer some thicker sheet until it was really thin. My little Kerr Stuart Wren just about manages six skips although the wheels do spin occasionally!
