Granta Valley Railway

The Granta Valley Railway is a fictional 15″ gauge miniature railway built on the track bed of the old Stour Valley Railway between Shelford and Haverhill. The Granta River meanders from Haverhill, past Linton and on into Cambridge following a similar, but not identical, route to the old branch line and it seems appropriate to call my fictional miniature line the Granta Valley Railway.

I’ve built the baseboards…

…laid some of the track…

…done the electrics…

…and even installed the layout in it’s new home.

Work on the GVR has stopped while I focus on building ‘Thomas and Sons’. I will definitely come back to work on the GVR. I have lots of ideas for scenery and stock, and the idea of creating my own miniature railway is very appealing!
