My name’s Steve and I like trains. (In case you hadn’t guessed already).

As a teenager, family holidays in Wales got me interested in narrow gauge railways. I’ve always wanted a model railway representing a narrow gauge line, but somehow it never happened.

Then one day I decided to stop dreaming and start doing. Using advice from the internet, books and the OO9 Society I created a small layout called ‘First’. I found I really enjoyed making things with my hands and I wanted to do more.

This blog describes my modelling activities, trips to exhibitions and visits to real railways.

I wish I had more time to make things but I’m just a regular guy fitting my modelling around work, family, and life in general.
