Bahnchen: Sky, Bushes, Trees

When we last saw my little micro layout Bahnchen the ground was a brown colour.

I wanted something more interesting than that… Here’s how the scenery progressed.

Click on a photo for a larger image. (If you are using the Safari browser and don’t get the larger images, go to Settings and apply the option that says – clear cache and cookies. WordPress tell me clearing your cache may solve the problem. Let me know if it works).

The ground was covered with a generous coating of scatter and clump foliage.
The backscene is a piece of black plasticard with the sky given an uneven coat of blue paint
Two other pieces of black plasticard were used to tidy up the non-scenic edges of the layout.
Here’s the backscene fixed in place. Any taller and it won’t fit in the box!
A few pine trees were added.
Here’s the ‘viewer’s-eye’ view of the completed scenery.

The trees are from The Model Tree Shop. They will sell you individual pine trees of a specific size, and they specify the height and diameter of each tree. I found this really useful because it allowed me to work out how many trees I could fit into the small space I had available before I brought them. (BTW I’ve no connection to the owner, I’m just a happy customer).
