Sports commentators are fixated with ‘the back of the net’, I’ve been focussed on the back of the yard.
The long wall to the rear of Thomas and Sons looked rather blank and needed something to add a little interest.
I’ve added a couple of beams, the oxy-acetylene trolley and the maintenance man. Presumably some new beams are required inside the buildings, they’ve been delivered but need a little work before they can be installed in the factory. I painted them in Humbrol Matt 100 enamel paint which seems to be a reasonable match for red oxide primer. The wooden ‘chocks’ are small pieces of a coffee stirrer given a wash of light brown paint.
The yard is becoming busier, but it seems to look better with a little more life… and I’m enjoying creating these ‘cameos’.
