A ‘Pug Conversion’ is often called a ‘PugBash’. I guess it’s because you’ve got to ‘bash’ the original to get what you want 🙂

Well, I’ve bashed the boiler and saddle tank on the Hornby Pug. It was cut to length, considerably shorter than the original. I built up the height of the smokebox and added some rivet heads. I added a false boiler from some 12mm (0.5 inch) plastic tube. Finally, I’ve cut the top off of the chimney so that I can make it longer (but I haven’t done that yet).

I must admit ‘bashing’ models is rather fun!
