The bogie box van has been completed and this time I didn’t drop it while I varnished it ๐
The damaged roof was removed using a pen knife and the mess was tidied up using a big file. Actually, it went surprisingly well, and the replacement roof and rain strips came out OK.
I weathered the wagon using Citadel Agrax Earthshade, a dirty black/brown ink-like product. It creates a nice weathered effect but it’s easy to put too much on and one side of the wagon is a little darker than the other. It doesn’t really matter, you only see one side of the wagon at any one time ๐
I’m pleased I persisted with this build. The finished model is about 94mm (3.7 inch) long, and it is much, much bigger than my other O9 stock. That adds some interesting variety when I’m operating Thomas and Sons.
As sad before, looks really nice! Specially the weathering.
When will we see this stroll around on the Granta Valley Railway ? Hope that project didn’t stall, liked that a lot to.

Hi Henrik, Thanks! Glad you like the weathering. The Citadel Agrax Earthshade was a bit of an experiment, but I’d use it again. I might dilute it a little though. Ah yes, the GVR… it’s still on the books… my problem is I’ve got so many ideas that I get diverted. I have lots of half finished or started things for the GVR… I need to be more disciplined and do some ‘finishing’ ๐
