Victorian Coaches

Last year I made an 009 loco from a modified Bachmann Rheneas body and it would be nice to make some coaches for it.

The Dundas Models Victorian coaches (DM68) are very attractive. Victorian narrow gauge coaches were designed to run very close to the ground and I thought they would look better with my loco if they were slightly higher.

It’s a simple task to mount the coach body on to a Peco N gauge chassis (NR-121) and add some small pieces of plastic section to mask some of the new chassis.

Then, I thought it might be fun to convert one of the coaches to include a guards compartment. Another simple task: scribe some plasticard to resemble planking, use it to mask one of the windows, add a guards ‘ducket’ from a Dundas Models accessory kit (DP02) and repeat on the other side of the coach.

Next job is P&P. Primer and painting 🙂
