My family call it ‘The Beccles Bonanza’ because I always come back with a big smile on my face.
It was a really good show with 12 layouts, 3 traders, stands from 2 local railways and super refreshments.
The modelling was excellent, the atmosphere relaxed and the people friendly.

The venue is large and well lit. 009 Society trade stand and refreshments next door, more layouts upstairs.Ashfield Road, battery powered 009 micro layout by Chris Seago.Ashfield Green in 009 by Chris Seago. Interesting operation in less than 2 square feet.As always, attractive modelling from Chris. Loose End in 009 by Jim Bamber,Foxwood by Ray Trudgett in O9.A 15 inch gauge country estate railway.Lovely view up to the barn.Plenty of nice stock too.Beckland End a professionally built 009 layout in a case owned by Barry Weston.I do like to see an Egger-Bahn railcar.Ramsdale in O9 by Graham and Caroline Watling.Set in the grounds of a fictitious country house.Every miniature railway should have a tea room. I’d eat here !My own layout Apadobe Mine.I had a good time chatting to lots of interesting people. If you stopped by, nice to talk with you 🙂Grafton Maltings in O-16.5 by Ipswich Railway Modellers.Barges to bring coal and barley to the maltings.It really resembles East Anglia in the 1950s. Slate Museum in O-16.5 by David Crowe.The buildings are based on those at Dinorwic Quarry.Endeane in 009 by Broadland Model Railway Club. There’s a water mill…… a goods yard…… and canal side dock.Caravanserai in 009 by Chris O’Donoghue.It represents a terminus on the Lower Nile Railway in Egypt. Lots of highly detailed scenes throughout the layout.Chris’s layouts often feature very nice model boats – here’s a traditional felucca.I don’t think I’ve seen a layout with water buffalo before though 🙂There was an interesting mix of stock in the fiddle yard. Is someone stealing antiquities?Ardgowan, O-16.5 by March and District Model Railway Club has a lovely harbour scene.And a quarry with an O9 feeder line and working stone chutes.Lovely detailing on the harbour.After the exhibition I went to the beach. Miami ? No Lowestoft.I wasn’t the only one enjoying the sunshine.A fish and chip supper to finish off a great day out 🙂I thought I end the blog with my favourite model of the day. Miteside Halt on the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway modeled from an old postcard by Alan Church.
