Last Sunday was the O scale model railway exhibition at Bressingham.
With Pete and Gillian Atkins we were running the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association stand with a nice selection of publications, O-16.5 and On30 stock and Apadode Mine. I am pleased to say the little layout behaved itself all day.
Here are some snaps of things that caught my eye. (Click on a photo for a larger image).
Raven Hill in O9 by Graham and Caroline Watling.Lovely street scene with low relief buildings as a backdrop. What’s on shed today…?Nile Street Basin, O scale standard gauge.Very nice, subtle weathering. Pug on shed.Attractive details and cameos.Little Sefton a compact shunting layout.Very engaging modelling.Nice detailing and clever painted backscene.I like the ‘Blood and Custard’ road vehicles, not something you see modeled very often.French’s Mill, another compact shunting layout. The lighting and colouring of the layout are particularly well done. The mill is a great bit of modelling.Ingoldsby Yard in O9 by Chris Seago.A goods yard, Inglenook Sidings shunting puzzle.Very crisp, detailed modelling, characteristic of all Chris’s work.Ellingham Mill an O scale shunting layout by Richard Doe.This layout has great potential. I really like the mill. It’s based on a real one near Bungay in Suffolk.Outside, I’m sure I saw this loco on a layout earlier πSt Christopher on the 15 inch gauge Waveney Valley Railway line.A really nice Motorail ‘Simplex’.George Sholto a quarry Hunslet that worked at Penrhyn Quarries.Every time I go to Bressingham I gaze fondly at this 15 inch gauge loco. I’d like to see it running. A work in progress.“Bovis” Hunslet battery electric locomotive.GER Class S56.The Krupps 15 inch gauge loco ‘Rosenkavalier’.The sister loco ‘Maennertreu’ undergoing restoration. I can’t wait to see this running!Wonderfully simple, solid German engineering. The elegant GER Class T26, built 1895. These used to run through my local station. Must have been a lovely sight. Finally, another elegant machine, The Gallopers. Built in Kingβs Lynn in 1897. Yes, of course I had a ride.
There was lots of coffee and chat. It was good to catch up with Richard, Graham, Caroline, Chris, Pete and Gillian.
Bressingham is always an enjoyable day out. If you haven’t visited, add it to your ‘To Do’ list π
