Coffee stirrers are a really useful modelling material.
Andy Greenslade wrote a nice article about using them to make narrow gauge wagons in Going Minimum Gauge.
I thought I’d give it a go… Click on an image for a larger version

I was rather pleased with this, especially considering it was a first attempt.
I like the surface of the flat wagon but I’m not sure about the wooden headstocks and solebars.
Could I make one with a metal chassis ? Click on an image for a larger version

This wagon definitely gets my vote. I like the metal frame combined with the rough wooden top.
I think I might make some more 🙂
That is a great looking wagon Steve! Buying the coffee stirrers in bulk seems the most economic way to get a supply in as well. Just imagine how much that wagon would have cost in coffees if you had to buy one for each stirrer that you needed! Mind you, at least you would have the satisfaction of several coffee flavoured drinks as well as the wagon!

Hi Woody, Yes my double shot, skinny, oat milk, hazelnut latte is rather expensive. And all that expense for just one coffee stirrer !!
