Another Egger Bash

I’ve made another loco for Bahnchen.

Why does such a small, one track layout need a second loco…. just because I fancy doing another Egger bash!

Here’s how I did the build. Click on a photo for a larger image.

I started with a second hand Egger-Bahn loco body.
The body is about the same size as the Rokuhan Z Shorty chassis.
I stripped the paint off of the body using Strip Magic.
I made a crude footplate from cardboard.
I modified the chassis (on the right) so the body sat a little lower on it.
I cut a footplate in plasticard using the cardboard one as a template.
It fitted together well.
To hide the Rokuhan bogies I made some tram skirts from plasticard.
So far so good…
Couplings added.
Some fake tool boxes to hide the Rokuhan chassis.
After painting.
A modified Dapol figure as the driver. Thinner legs to clear the chassis.
The finished loco.
Although I’ve never seen a Egger with tram skirts, I think it works.
