Bahnchen: Baseboard and Track

For Bahnchen, the baseboard was made from pieces of wood from my ‘scrapbox’: 3mm plywood and 20 x 20mm pine.

The track is Peco Z gauge flexitrack. I added some fake sleepers made from coffee stirrers.

The upper level of the baseboard with the track in place.
The electrics are simple !
Track was ballasted to hide the original sleepers.
No need to ballast the back, it wont be visible.
A wooden frame was added.
The controller and batteries are hidden under the upper baseboard.
Another layer of ply was added underneath. There’s hole to access the wiring.
Here’s the completed, two level, baseboard.

    • Hi Chris, Thanks, I’m glad you like it. I found some wood that was the same height (thickness?) as the Peco Z gauge sleepers. That made it easier, no gaps to fill and no packing to do. I laid the track and then added the new sleepers. Before laying the track I cut the ‘webbing’ (under the track, between the Peco sleepers) to make it easier to push the new ones under the track.
