Last weekend my ‘Dad’s Taxi’ duties took me to Peterborough and I squeezed in a visit to the Fenland Light Railway.
This seven and a quarter inch gauge line is located in Mereside Drove, in some lovely Fenland countryside.
The volunteers have done a great job of building a double loop, station, signal box and tunnel. Apparently it’s all build on 120 tons of aggregate to ensure there’s no subsidence in this low lying, wet area!
There was a nice Romulus running, some interesting 45mm gauge stock on the garden railway and an excellent refreshment stall. Plus lots of people enjoying themselves – including me đŸ™‚
