Ground Cover Colour Washes

Work has continued on the ground cover for the APA box layout.

The colour of the sand I applied doesn’t match the rock faces, so I need to fix this.

I mixed up some acrylic paint, diluted it and washed it onto the sand.

One wash changed the colour slightly, but not sufficiently to match the rocks.

A second wash was applied, and this seems to have done the trick 🙂

As the layout is progressing well, I couldn’t resist trying a test run !

I cleaned the track with a track rubber and some degreaser then vacuumed up all the debris.

I’m pleased to say things ran rather well 🙂

There are still a few bumpy and sticky parts but I can fix them – not bad for a first test run!
