A week of woodwork.
If I add scenery to the APA box layout it will be difficult to reach the track at the rear of the layout.
My solution was to create an access panel at the back of the box.
I drilled four corners with a 32mm drill bit and then cut out a rectangular hole using a tenon saw. A piece of hardboard, part of the original base of the box, was cut to make a cover. It’s held in place by two of pieces of pine. The cover slides up and down behind these. Simple!

Final job this week was to give the bare wood a couple of coats of matt varnish. Not to make it look pretty but to stop it getting too dirty 🙂
