My family tell me I’m good at making a mess. So adding some clutter to the yard of the engineering works on Thomas and Sons shouldn’t be a problem 🙂
I’ve made some progress. There are lots of nice new packing cases emerging from the workshops and a workman having a tea break. Hmmm very British. His twin brother is one of the loco drivers, but the twin is more industrious, there’s no cup of tea in his hand!
The girders at the back are an experiment. They were purchased from a rummage box at an exhibition (remember those?) and they are still sellotaped together. I’m wondering if they might make a nice feature for that corner of the yard.
Meanwhile, clutter creation continues…..
Hi Steve. Clutter looks very authentic, less is more! Am impressed by the cobblestones, how did you achieve that please.

Hi Peter The cobbles were made by rolling out DAS clay and creating the setts by pressing down with some small tools. If you go to the layout section there’s a series of posts in May, June and July 2019 showing the process in some detail. Painting is described here. It’s messy but fun! Hope that helps Steve
