This isn’t a traditional Christmas card image but I rather like the atmosphere of the train emerging through the snow storm. Taken by David Brossard it shows a freight special on the Durango & Silverton narrow gauge railroad in the first snow of the season, with large slushy flakes.

The Durango & Silverton is a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow-gauge railway that runs for 45 miles through very spectacular scenery in Colorado USA. The line has an excellent website and looks well worth visiting. (Well, I can dream 🙂 )
