DAS Clay: Adding New to Old

I’ve found that I can join wet DAS clay to dry clay that has setts stamped into it.

It is easy to join fresh wet clay to clay setts if I run the new clay parallel to the last line of setts. You can see the fresh white clay I’ve added to the test piece in the image above.

It solves the problem of how to do large areas. Simply create setts in a small area, let everything dry, and add fresh wet clay.

Simples !

Perhaps this is obvious to people in the know, but I haven’t worked with clay for years and so I’m rediscovering the obvious 🙂
