10 Years of Blogging

It’s the 10th anniversary of the day I started this blog !

I started blogging to motivate me to keep modelling. It seems to have worked πŸ™‚

Now, after 603 posts, 3942 photos and over 136,000 words, it’s become my diary.

I enjoy writing the text and taking the photos and it definitely motivates me.

I write about what I’m doing and what interests me, so it’s a surprise (and a pleasure!) to know that other people read this and enjoy what they find here.

The blog will continue, although I never quite know what direction it will take.

Thank you for reading !

If you want to travel back in time and read the first blog here it is:

  1. Wow! That is an achievement Steve! Congratulations and whilst no where near the longevity, quality or readership of your blog your reasons for blogging are just about identical to mine. It is certainly motivationally to write about things and a great way to settle arguments, I mean discussions with your other half about when certain things happened!

It is of course the Mansfield show this Saturday. Could be a good anniversary destination!

    • Hi Woody, Thank you! I’m pleased you find your blog a motivation too. I love the Tomahawk model you’ve made – really nice work, it looks great!
Yes blogs are useful for settling memory issues too. I often think ‘When did I do that?’, look at the blog and find it was more years ago than I remember πŸ™‚
I am going to Mansfield this weekend. If you see me please say ‘Hi’. I’ll be the grey haired guy, with a big nose, carrying a blue rucksack and a copy of Das Kapital (one of these isn’t true!).
      All the best

  2. Hello Steve,

Thanks for the kind words about the Tomahawk. Been many years since I built, sorry, gluebombed one of Airfix’s plane kits and they certainly have come on.

Hoping to go to Mansfield show in the afternoon for the first time. I will also be the grey haired guy with big nose in some form of t shirt with some reference to cycling, probably carrying a carrier bag and a copy of the Beano or Dandy which is more at my reading level! Likewise one of the above may not be true but equally do say hi if you see me.

    • Hi Woody
πŸ™‚ I will look out for you. It’s gonna be a pro cycling T shirt I hope!
I haven’t made an Airfix kit since I was a teenager. I think I built them OK, but my painting was terrible. Thick layers of enamel!
