Creating a layout in such a small space and converting the Egger-Bahn locos to run on 6.5mm gauge track has been a fascinating and enjoyable project. There were lots of little challenges along the way and trying to solve them was a lot of fun.
The video isn’t scripted and I found myself calling this a ‘pleasure project’.
That’s a nice way to describe it 🙂

Thanks Chris. I’m in two minds about whether to continue in this scale and (perhaps) make something bigger. It is immensely fun, but the 6.5mm gauge is rather fiddly too!

Yes you are right, it is possible to build something in a pretty small space. I’m trying to resist seeing if I can build something even smaller. Micro model railway can probably be taken too far 🙂

Hello Steve. That is my channel, somewhat basic, unscripted and amateurish but hopefully of interest and maybe with the odd tip or just some motivational inspiration for those kind enough to watch. Chalkdon has been nearly 4 years in the making but I have to admit that of all my creations it works well and has given much enjoyment over its build.. There is a certain sense of achievement when I look at it and think to myself, I built that which is something you have no doubt sensed looking at your wonderful layouts. If my glacial rate of progress continues I may get my 0n30 layout built for 2030! Just too many projects and not enough time!
