To complete the Bahnchen build, I’ve made a stock box.
I like seeing what I can make from odds and ends and I really enjoyed this little project.

I brought this wooden tray at my local scout jumble sale. A bargain at 50 pence. It holds the stock for Bahnchen rather neatly but I thought it needed a lid. This little box cost £2 from The Works. I will use the hinges and clasp. I couldn’t buy them elsewhere for £2.I used a scrap piece of 5mm plywood to make a lid. It’s not perfect but after two coats of varnish it looks quite good. All the essentials for Bahnchen: the stock, a rerailer and a couple of spare batteries.
There’s still space in the box for more rolling stock… in case I get the urge to continue in HOf 🙂
This is beautiful! Very tasteful, especially the green trim. Room for a few tools for emergency repairs and tweaks mid-exhibition?

Thank you Christian, very kind of you.
I hadn’t thought of adding some tools but that is a jolly good idea!
