The Granta Valley Railway Cafe (Part 2) The Roof

The roofers have completed their work on the GVR cafe.

The felt roof was made from 240 grit wet and dry paper glued to the roof with PVA (white glue).

The only complicated part was gluing the overhangs to the underside of the roof. Some clamps were required to hold everything in place.

The roof was painted with diluted Humbrol BR Coach Roof Grey acrylic paint, and given a light dry brushing of Citadel Ulthuan Grey.

The cafe will require a lot of detailing – staff, notices, a tea urn and lots and lots of cakes 🙂

That can wait. My plan is to build the basic buildings so that I can position them on the layout and see how they fit before I detail them.
