In my mind the yard of Thomas and Sons will be paved with setts and the interior of the works will have concrete floors. I’ve realised the two will have to be clearly separated.

The solution is these small pieces of plasticard. I will paint them a rust colour to represent an old steel plate forming the boundary between inside and outside.
