The Granta Valley Railway is a fictional 15″ gauge miniature railway built on the track bed of the old Stour Valley Railway between Shelford and Haverhill. The Granta River meanders from Haverhill, past Linton and on into Cambridge following a similar, but not identical, route to the old branch line and it seems appropriate to call my fictional miniature line the Granta Valley Railway.

I’ve built the baseboards…

…laid some of the track…

…done the electrics…

…and even installed the layout in it’s new home.

Work on the GVR stopped in 2019 while I focused on building ‘Thomas and Sons’.

To be honest work on the GVR hasn’t progressed and the partially built layout is mothballed.
