Trent Valley NG Modelling Day 2026

Today was the Trent Valley Narrow Gauge Modellers Open Day.

With 7 layouts, 8 demonstrations and 6 sales stands there was a lot to see.

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and I spent most of my time chatting to people!

It was really nice to meet several people I know and chat to them. Good to see y’all.

Between all the talking I managed to eat pieces of cake, two bacon cobs and drink several cups of tea. It would’ve been rude not to 🙂

  1. Hi Steve, some incredible layouts in your pics. It really shows the diversity of the overall hobby of model railways. Something for everyone and you don’t need masses of space either. I really must get on with my O9 project too but probably need to fortify myself with some cake. Did you save me some?

PS how is your bike that you bought last year going?

    • Hello Woody,
Yes, the Trent Valley group have a really diverse range of interests. It was enjoyable and thought provoking to visit their open day.
Unfortunately there was no cake left over… someone ate it all. Not me guv’na, honest…

New bike is going well, thanks. I treated it to a cheap cycle computer from China recently. It cost £9.99 including delivery. Amazingly it works well. An unexpected bonus is the daily pop up notifications with quotes from Mao’s Little Red Book. Many of them are quite inspiring 🙂

      Hope you are doing well
      Steve
