For Springwell I’d like some simple flat wagons to transport the horticultural produce.
The Peter Binnie website sells some very nice 16mm narrow gauge Hudson tipper chassis.
These ‘skip’ chassis were often converted into straightforward flat wagons, making them an ideal starting point for the job.

This was a fun build. The kits are well designed and neatly moulded, and everything fits together as it should.
Best of all, I think the finished wagon looks right — always an important test for any model.
I’ll need four or five wagons for this shunting puzzle. The next challenge will be creating a bit of variety between them, without losing the overall character of the fleet.
Some nest weathering on the metal – have you used weathering powders before? And the balsa seems like it needed two or three steps to get to the aged look?
