Progress with O9 Loco Kit Bash

Last weekend I started converting a 009 loco kit into an O9 (or On18) loco.

I’ve made some progress this week… Click on a photo for a larger version.

Couplings and strengthening pieces were added to the footplate.
The cab was attached to the footplate.
An exhaust pipe was made from brass rod and tube, and a air intact created from plastic tube and plasticard.
The bonnet was attached to the footplate.
Window surrounds were added using plastic strip.
Here’s the current state of play.

I had hoped to get a little further this week, but everything seemed to take longer than I expected.

Next I will fill and smooth the joins and I’m thinking of trying some rivet transfers for the first time. Yikes !
