Permanent Way Progress

In December I made some new baseboards. They were rather bare!

I’m pleased to say that things have progressed. Backscenes have been added and track has been laid…

The hardest thing about laying model railway track is plucking up the courage to start.

I used a couple of things to make the job easier:

  • To push these rail joiners onto the rails these ‘Rail Joiner Mates‘ are very useful. Better than stabbing the rail joiner into your finger!
  • I find it easier to lay track using rail screws rather than track pins.

There’s more to do, including the track for the sidings and all the electrics, but it’s progress 🙂
