Senior Railcard (Crickey!)

I had a significant birthday recently.

Yes, one of those birthdays that ends in a zero.

Now, I qualify for a Senior Railcard (gasp!)

When I was a teenager in Hampshire we called old people ‘crumblies’.

I find I am officially a ‘crumbly’ πŸ™‚

I don’t feel like I’m falling apart, although my knees definitely aren’t what they used to be.

In recent years I’ve not travelled by train very much at all.

I plan to use my crumbly card for days out. Let’s see if it inspires me to use the train more…

  1. Happy Birthday Steve! Remember, it is just a number! I tend to follow the advice offered by that great singer and musician, Bryan Adams – 18 til I die! Problem is I can also remember The Summer of 69! and that Cuts like a knife! Apologies if you are not a fan of his as that last lot will probably make no sense! Anyway, enjoy y=the freedom of the rails strikes allowing! Woody.

    • Hi Woody,
Thank you!! I still feel 18 in my mind (if not my knees) and I think that’s the point. Afterall, I’m still playing trains so I must be a big kid πŸ™‚
