On a sunny Sunday in June my ‘Dad’s Taxi’ duties took me to Peterborough and I took the opportunity to visit Ferry Meadows Railway.
It’s a 10¼ inch gauge railway built in 1978 when the Ferry Meadows park was opened.
At nearly half a mile (0.8km) long, it’s an attractive ride through the meadows and it was very popular.
There’s an good history of the line here. It looks like they have an interesting collection of rolling stock but I didn’t ask to look around the shed. Perhaps I will next time….
