7mm Narrow Gauge Association Exhibition 2024

One exhibition I look forward to is the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association’s annual bash in Burton.

This year’s didn’t disappoint: 14 layouts, 16 traders, 7 societies and the 7mmNGA sales stand.

I had a great time looking at the layouts and talking to people. I think I spent more time talking than looking !

If I bumped into you and we had a chat – thank you. It was enjoyable, I learnt a lot and meeting people was the icing on a very good exhibition.

Hookton Riverside in O-16.5 by Mike Bragg
Very nicely modelled and detailed.
Lots of atmosphere.
Nice, drive thru goods shed.
Some more elegant buildings too.
Bunkers Lane in O9 by Bill Flude
A masterclass in O9 modelling.
The Leighton Buzzard Light Railway influences are clear in the stock.
Very interesting to see the modern buildings as a backdrop.
Incredibly, it’s a double sided layout on boards that are only 18 inches (45cm) wide.
Nice contrast between the modern buildings, the busy scenes and the quieter countryside.
Lunch was delicious.
5.5mm (1:55) scale modules by Steve Jones
There’s something very attractive about 5.5mm scale.
The stock is a great size, neither too small nor too large
The models look very attractive
Nice scenes can be created by using wargaming buildings and figures
Roundhay Roundhay in O-16.5 by Kevin Harlow
A simple design, very well executed
With some lovely scenic modelling and detailing
Wheal Ponder in O-16.5 by Andrew Young
More lovely scenic modelling. Nice use of a Petite Properties building.
Lots of variety and character.
I was very taken by these beautifully made Iconic Rail Corris coaches.
