Could this be snow?

No, I’ve spent the morning carving old polystyrene packaging to make the hills for my 009 layout.

Here’s an eye level view of the progress

I’m pretty happy with the left hand side. Some low mounds of earth, rather than high hills.

For the right hand side, my feelings are a bit mixed. I like the hills at the front. With some grass, bushes and a tree or two, the exit through the backscene will be quite well hidden.

However, the hill at the back isn’t right. It’s too high and the sides are too steep. I’ll need to rework it.

None of the hills are glued on the layout so changing it won’t be difficult.
