Continuing with the test plank, time to add some scenery…
A generous coating of PVA and some coarse flockTopped up with fine scatter.Hoover off the excess and it looks OKAdd more scatter and some secondhand bushesDecide I don’t like the colour of the bushes so cover them in scatterApply some static grass. So far, so good..
Dear Steve
Like your walk the plank for scenery stages, but you need to look at the enlarged pictures to appreciate what you have done, looking good. it amazes me just how many layers we now use, 50 years ago it was just a couple of layers of different grades and colours of sawdust with litchens of different shades. Must say I like your article on your mine layout in Continental Modeller top job well done keep up the good work.

Dear Roger
Glad you like it and I agree the thumbnail images don’t show you much. I guess they let you decide if you want to see more.
Layer upon layer of scenery does seem to be a trend at the moment, perhaps we are making it too complicated….
Thank very much for your comments on the article in CM. I was very pleased with the artistic page layouts Andrew Burnham created. I could never do that!
Cheers

This looks fabulous! I enjoyed the step-by-step approach in your photos, across these posts, and can see the progression. I like the tie colour you’ve achieved and LOVE the layered textures in the scene as this develops.
Hi Chris,
Thank you! Very kind of you!
At the moment I like posting a series of photos – it seems more effective that writing lots of words 🙂
All the best
